It’s Beach time in Texas so time for Beach Beers! Light, refreshing and goes down smooth while baking in the heat of the beach.  Some great beers in the group as usual with the Austin Beerworks ACTION a particular stand out for me.

Beer Bums Meeting – September 2014 – Session Beers

We are trying to kick off the end of these excessive heat with session beers.  Beers below 5% abv. This was a surprisingly varied, but very good group of beers.  The Save the World Humilus Filius was an extra a little above 5% abv, but we let that slide.  I enjoyed all the selections and we made sure to make Session out of it.

Beer Bums Meeting – May 2014 – Brown Ales

We had a little confusion on what a Brown Ale is exactly.  3 out of 5 isn’t bad, although a case could be made for the Hobgoblin.  But let’s face it, bringing the wrong beer is better than bringing no beer, and in the end we drank them all.

Beer Bums Meeting – July 2012 – 49 & 50 Beers

49 & 50 beers, or Beers from Hawaii and Alaska.  We ended up with beers from either Alaskan Brewing or Kona Brewing although there are a few others available from those two states.  The stand out for me was the Kona Koko Brown which is a brown ale brewed with toasted coconut.  Tasty.  Again, there were no stinkers in the bunch.
